Our Mission

 

It's our mission to give you spicy, yet whimsical gourmet recipes with the ingredients just a click away. So, if you're a fan of fiery chile peppers, original spicy dishes and unusual hot sauces then this site is for you.

 


 

The Vision

 

It’s often said that there are two types of food; the food on which you can put cheese and the food on which you can put chocolate. I agree with this. And, I agree wholeheartedly – but only if it includes chile peppers.

My name is Matt Kay. I’m a foodie but I’m also a chile-head. I love good food but I REALLY love spicy, good food. Actually, it’s more than a love – it’s a sickness. I can’t imagine a day without eating something spicy. My father introduced me to hot sauce when I was very young and ever since I've been hooked. I remember fondly, times when we would try to "out-hot" each other. We may not compete much these days but our enjoyment of spicy food continues.

My obsession with spicy food and the chile peppers that provide the heat has been compounded by my love to cook and then compounded again by my love to eat. To this very day you can be sure I’m thinking of ways to put a gourmet twist on my favorite chile laden recipes. And, you can bet your coq au vin that chiles will find their way into the mix. I’m sure a few French chefs would have rolled over in their graves if they had heard that but hey, you know the saying – if you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Because I’m a “died in the wool” foodie and a hardcore chile-head I feel that the food that I share with you should be more that just spicy – it should be amazingly flavorful. I hope you enjoy seeing the culinary world through my chile-colored glasses.
